Welcome to Thunderdome! Ahem, I mean welcome to your Mad Max Date Night! Here you’ll find details on the movies, drink and food inspired by Mad Max, and what to play during the evening. Enjoy!
Endless explosions, sand, leather, and cars. Mad Max is a wonderfully exciting movie franchise directed by George Miller, where each movie is better than the last.
The Imperator Furiosa Shot
- Brown sugar
Turn shot glass upside down. Dip rim of the glass into water and let excess water drip off. Then gently dip the rim of the glass into brown sugar in order to coat the rim, so you’ll have an effect reminiscent of the sand throughout the movie.
Pour the shot glass half full with Kahlua first, since the Kahlua is heavier than the Baileys and sinks to the bottom. Take a spoon, turn it bottom side up, and slowly pour Baileys on it to fill the rest of the shot glass. This will allow it to keep the separated look. Toast to Imperator Furiosa and enjoy!

Dinki-Di Dog Food
Throughout the movies, there’s not a lot of appetizing food choices. In the second movie, Mad Max is shown eating Dinki-Di Dog Food. And nothing says date night like a little dog food!
Get a can of something you’d like for dinner. I chose a can of Progresso minestrone soup. It ended up being a little big for the label, but that was ok.
Print the free Dinki-Di Dog Food label from here. Click the gear in the top right corner of the label, download, and print.
Open the can, pour contents into a bowl and heat to your liking. Rip off the original label. Carefully ladle contents back into the can. Tape the Dinki-Di Dog Food label around the can, put in a spoon and serve!
The Pigs of Thunderdome
(Pigs in a blanket)
- Crescent role dough
- Package of little smokies
Inspired by the pigs that fueled Bartertown. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Spray pan with non-stick spray. Use pieces of the crescent roll dough to wrap around the little smokies. Place them on a pan. Bake until crescent roll dough begins to brown (should be less than 10 minutes). Serve!
- Borderlands : For play, I highly recommend Borderlands. The co-op play is amazing and it’s very much a Mad Max inspired environment. You’ll have a riot of a time playing this during your date night.
“Oh, what a day! What a lovely day!” -Nux (Nicholas Hoult) in Fury Road
The most bought item with the Wilton Silver Color Mist. Witness in the complete get-up.
Enjoy your Mad Max Date Night!
